SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Continuing Education Scholars: No Deadline

Deadline for High School Class of 2024 Graduates: March 27, 2024

Thank you for your interest in the Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship. If you intend to apply for a scholarship, the first step is to send an email to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com  to let Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee know of your intent. We will then anticipate your submission of a completed application (before the deadline). We will be available to answer any questions you might have during the process.  For more information go to www.keswickheritagefund.org

To submit a paper copy of the application: Complete this application by hand or typewriter.  Mail the application including the letter documenting acceptance into a university/college or other educational program to Keswick Heritage Fund, PO Box 94, Keswick, VA 22947.

The applicant should request that transcripts (item C and D) and 2 the letters of recommendation (item E) be sent to Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee, PO Box 94, Keswick, Virginia 22947 or instruct that they email them to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com

 

The Following Additional Items are Needed to Complete Your Application

B. Letter of Acceptance from the intended educational institution

C. Official high school transcript or GED certificate:  The applicant can request that transcript be sent to Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee, PO Box 94, Keswick, Virginia 22947 or email them to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com

D. If the applicant attended a community college or university, submit an official transcript to date. The applicant can request that transcript be sent to Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee, PO Box 94, Keswick, Virginia 22947 or email them to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com

E. Two letters of recommendation: one from a sponsoring church/community leader and one from either a teacher, counselor, or work supervisor unrelated to the applicant: The applicant can request that the letters of recommendation (item E) be sent to Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee, PO Box 94, Keswick, Virginia 22947 or email them to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com

F. Personal Essay : 500-1000 words. Tell us your story! Its Ok to work with your sponsor to fully describe your educational goals, needs, work history, community activities, and services.  Please describe your connection to the Keswick Community. Have you lived in the Keswick area? Are you connected to one of the area churches? Do you have any family connections or other history with the Keswick area? What are your reasons for applying for this scholarship?

The applicant can request that the letters of recommendation (item E) be sent to Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee, PO Box 94, Keswick, Virginia 22947 or email them to keswickheritagefund@gmail.com.

The Keswick Heritage Fund Scholarship Selection Committee will review all applications and make recommendations to the Keswick Heritage Fund Board for final approval.

  • Each applicant will be scheduled for an in-person interview with 2 or 3 members of the Scholarship Selection Committee.  These will generally be scheduled in April to early May. The interview will not be with the full committee.  This interview provides an opportunity for an applicant, who may not do well in written formats, to discuss their goals and for the committee to get to know the applicant and to ask clarifying questions about any items in the written documents (A-F) that were submitted.

  • Award Recipients will attend the KHF annual awards reception in person and be prepared to provide a testimonial on how the scholarship assisted their educational goals. We will have an awards reception August 10, 2024. Time and Location to be announced.
