Helping One Student Inspired Us to Help More

Ashley Williams received our inaugural scholarship in 2020 through a Keswick Heritage Fund Grant from the Grace Episcopal Church Outreach Ministry. As a result of the vision created through this charitable initiative, the Keswick Heritage Fund, Inc.was established in 2021.

“My name is Ashley Williams, and I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. In December of 2020, with the assistance of the Keswick Heritage Fund, I was able to achieve one of my biggest life goals. With their aid in my final semester, I was granted peace of mind to devote my time entirely to my education. As of today, I am a full-time high school educator, where I strive to inspire my students to believe in themselves as they begin their own journey to success. In the near future, I plan on attaining my master’s degree in education. I am extremely grateful for what the Keswick Heritage Fund has afforded me in my endeavors.”

Our Mission

The Keswick Heritage Fund is unified for growth to provide support for educational opportunities for African Americans in the Keswick Area of Virginia.

Our Purpose

The Keswick Heritage Fund will provide financial and facilitative support for local African American educational opportunities. These may include scholarships for higher education, internships, tutoring, mentoring, assistance with resume or college application preparation, and other similar services. This fund pledges to encourage African American participation in initiatives that further enhance educational and professional development opportunities in society.

The Keswick Heritage Fund is inspired by the legacy of the Rosenwald School alumni. Shown here is Pastor Kelvin Hawkins, of St. John Baptist Church.

The Keswick Heritage Fund is a community-based charity formed in 2021 through the partnership of five churches in Keswick, Virginia.
